About Us

My name is Lianka Azulay. I was born in Brazil and picked up my first crochet hook at age 7, and haven’t put it down since. I specialize in the research and use of unique stitch patterns in my designs to bring fashionable and contemporary style to crocheted pieces. My first collection of patterns, “Crocodile Stitch Fashions,” was published by Annie’s Attic and quickly became the #1 best-seller in the publisher’s catalog. The huge success of my pattern collection touched off a trend, and the Crocodile Stitch became one of the hottest crochet techniques in crochet today. (Crochet Magazine).

More about us to come.  Meanwhile, here’s some super-exciting legal stuff for you to peruse.  Enjoy!

  10. My Nana taught me to crochet when I was 12, she was an upholsterer by trade. My mother a seamstress who made wedding gowns taught me to sew, and my aunt taught me to embroider and cross stitch. I am very lucky to be part of such a richly creative family. Crocheting is what really took off for me and have been crocheting as a side business for about 10 years and now focusing on the business for the past year. I love Bonita patterns they are contemporary, stylish and easy to follow! Crocodile stitch (I call dragon scales) is one of my favorite stitch!

Now I am crocheting for my brand new granddaughter. I learned from my great aunt and have passed it down to my daughters and eveny granddaughters want to learn. It has almost become atradition iin my family for new brides and mothers to receive hand-made gifts from me. I am so glad that there are people out there to buy exciting patterns from and keep things interesting since design is not my thing. Please keep doing what you do so I can keep doing what I do. Thanks.
